More clearing of the iron bridge footings today. A multitude of moss laden logs were relocated and general undergrowth was removed. From this vegetation a dead hedge was created that will be a possible future home to birds, amphibians, hedgehogs and invertebrates.
So many of the passers by admired the hedge and commented on how it enhanced the spot.
The second platform was uncovered and this enabled people to see more of the shape of the site. This brought back memories for quite a few of the visitors of when they played here as children.
Valerie reminisced:
"We came here when the war had ended in 1945. We danced and sang, 'The war has ended, the war has ended!' We didn't know why we were dancing really or much about the war, but we came here and danced."
