What an EGGstraordinary turn out!!

Wow, what a day for the community of Breightmet today. NEWT's annual Easter Event saw local children and parents attend in droves - around 300! Here is our picture blog of the event......

The activities started off with a treasure hunt, with a leaflet to complete on a walk along the Bolton to Bury Cycle path. Children were then rewarded with an easter egg when they returned to base. Adele, Sue and Luke were very busy selling raffle tickets as well as dishing out the free eggs.

We had a wheel of fortune and candi-floss available, alongside the free marshmallow roasting - ably led by Simon.

The arts and crafts table was greeted with enthusiasm by all and Jasmine oversaw this section, madly cutting out rabbits for the kids to decorate. Pebbles were painted a myriad of colours, whilst goolgy eyes were attached to the rabbits for a bit of extra fun.

Our free face painter (Sarah Cowan) was a huge success and there was a queue for her creations. She even stayed to finish the queue as we were all packing away! Thank you Sarah.

The drawing of the raffle brought all the crowd together and there were many happy winners.

Here are some of the lucky people:

A huge thank you also goes to Bolton at Home for their community investment grant, Chris for masterminding the whole plan, Dave for helping with the preparations and transporting all the gear, Adele for sorting the tuck shop and Simon, Sue and Jasmine for supervising the activities. THANK YOU to all who came to enjoy this special community event, to celebrate the joys of SPRING!
