Hallooween Spooktacular 2021! Mwah ha haaaaaa

So three events this year to celebrate the Halloween festival - a free pumpkin carving event on the Saturday, a lantern and monster making event on Sunday afternoon and then scary displays for all on Sunday evening (Halloween!).

The pumpkin carving was very popular with families coming along to carve all kinds of wonderful creations. The pumpkins were a combination of those grown on the allotments, donations from Asda and Morrisons and some were also bought from NEWT funding. We had 52 available in total. Here are some of the photos from the Saturday event:

On Sunday afternoon we ran an arts and crafts events where children came and made clay monsters and decorated their own halloween lantern. The sun even came out to greet us too!

And the evening saw some fantastic spooky projections all around the allotments site. We had an amazing turn out and the rain held off for just the right amount of time!

Below are the three winners of the pumpkin carving competition and to top it all off we had 2 visiting dinosaurs for photo opportunities!

A massive thank you goes out to the volunteers Adele, Stuart, Alex, Neve, James, Simon, Alun, Jasmine, Chris, David, Jodie and Sue. A special thank you goes out to Shirley and Frank for providing us with the very much needed electric to power the projections! Shirley even came out with coffee for us all, which was lovely and goes to show what a great community we have here in Breightmet.
